The Borough Council supports a very active Narberth Community Library. The Library boasts a comprehensive collection of over 30,000 volumes, with Internet access to many of the world's best research facilities. Our library is a member of the Statewide Access Pennsylvania Library System, the Montgomery County Library System, and cooperates with the Lower Merion Library Association on inter-library loans. As a result of our participation in the Access Pennsylvania POWER Library Program, we now offer our patrons an unprecedented number of online information resources, including over 1,500 full-text periodical titles, newspaper files, encyclopedias, a special children's reference database and an archive of more than 500,000 current and historical photographs.
There's a lot going on in the Library. We are reregistering all of our patrons and offering Electronic Retrieval Lessons on Monday nights, now that our catalog and circulation have been automated. We dedicated the new McLinc computerized card catalog system on Narb-Earth Day. We can always use volunteers to help with bar-coding and other preparations for this process. We have received a number of grants and donations in support of our services. And, of course, we have our usual full array of activities and events for which we hope you'll join us.
