Borough Council

 
Q:   When and where are the Borough Council Meetings?
A:   The Borough Council meets twice each month (see the Borough Calendar distributed to residents):
  • The Caucus or working session meets at 8:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday preceding the second Monday.
  • The monthly Council meeting is 8:00 p.m. on the first Monday following the first Wednesday.
  • During July and August, & September the Caucus and Council meetings are combined on the first Monday following the first Wednesday. These combined meetings begin at 7:00 p.m.
  • All meetings are held in the Council Room on the second floor of the Municipal Building, 100 Conway. The building is handicapped accessible and has ample parking adjacent to the basketball courts.
     
Q:   Can I obtain a copy of the minutes of the last Council Meeting?
A:   Minutes are always available in the Borough Office. The Minutes that are approved at the most recent meeting are posted to the Info-Boards following their approval.Copies of approved minutes are also on file at at the circulation desk of the Narberth Community Library. Copies of approved minutes will be posted to this website after they are approved.
     
Q:   How do I get added to the agenda to speak at the next Council meeting?
A:   Every Council meeting has included in the agenda a citizens comment portion. This usually follows the regular agenda items, but public comment is not necessarily limited to the agenda items. If you wish to be included in the listed agenda, please call the Borough Office 48 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.
     
Q:   Where can I review a copy of the Borough Code?
A:   The Code is available at the Borough Office as well as at the Narberth Community Library.
     
Q:   Does the Borough have a budget? And how much is it?
A:   The Borough adopts its preliminary budget in November and its final budget on December 30th for the next year. The 2003 budget called for receipts and expenses of $3,272,493.00.
     
Q:   Is the budget open to public inspection? Where would I go to see it?
A:   Yes, the budget is available for public inspection. It is kept on file in the Borough Office.
