Q:   Who do I call with a question about trash collection?
A:   Call Borough Hall at (610) 664-1080 with your question.
     
Q:   How often are trash, recycling and newspapers collected? When are leaves picked up?
A:   The trash collection schedule is included in the Residents' Calendar with the yearly distribution of the Borough Newsletter. Curb side trash is collected every Tuesday and Friday, except the second and fourth Tuesdays, when recycling containers are collected. Newsprint is collected every Monday, except Monday holidays. Brush is collected every fourth Tuesday. Leaves are collected every Tuesday in November, and the first Tuesday in December. Bulk pick-ups can be arranged for on the fourth Tuesday of any month (charges vary).
     
Q:   What do I do with grass & hedge clippings?
A:   Grass clippings and small hedge trimmings are put in the regular trash. Long hedge trimmings can be bundled and tied and put out for branch and brush collection on the fourth Tuesday.
     
Q:   Who do I call to arrange a special trash pickup?
A:   Call the Borough Office. Special pickups are only done on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Please plan ahead. The Borough also sponsors Spring Clean Up Week the first full week in June for residents to dispose of larger items.
     
Q:   What is the charge for special pickups?
A:   Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners cost $25.00 each to dispose of the freon in an environmentally safe way. All other large items are $10.00 each. Payment is required prior to pickup.
     
Q:   My tax bill includes a charge for solid waste tax. How is that charge determined?
A:   The solid waste tax is based upon the assessed value of your property.
Q:   When is the next scheduled hazardous waste disposal?
A:   The Waste Authority of Eastern Montgomery County schedules these sites. Please call (610) 278-3000 for more information and directions to the closest drop off location.
     
Q:   Where can I drop off used motor oil?
A:   You can drop it off at Merion Exxon, 600 Montgomery Avenue.
     
Q:   How do I report a hazardous chemical spill?
A:   Call the Borough Office or Police non-emergency number.
