Narberth Borough Council has notified the developers of the Reserve at Maybrook on the Merriam tract in Lower Merion Township that there will be no entering or exiting to or from the proposed new apartment development onto N. Wynnewood Avenue in Narberth.
In his message, Jonas said "as Special Zoning Solicitor for Narberth Borough, I have been directed to advise the Facilitator and the other Stakeholders that Narberth Borough will not accept and will actively oppose any vehicular access, including car and truck access, onto North Wynnewood Avenue for the Reserve. This position may be changed only by official action of the Narberth Borough Council."
The reserve at Maybrook is a land development proposal that includes the construction of a new 253 unit apartment in one four story building with an attached four story parking garage. The area to be developed is located west of the Thomas Wynne Apartments between Penn Road and the Wynnewood train station. The tentative sketch plan last revised November 5, 2001 shows the subdivision of two parcels totaling 44 acres into six lots. The access to the apartments is via a new two-way private street extending from Penn Road through the property and tied into the existing parking lot of the Thomas Wynne Apartments. This private street was the subject of the executive session of Borough Council and prompted the actions of Council as stipulated by Zoning Solicitor Marc Jonas. In order to be part of this continuing review process, interested citizens are advised to contact the Lower Merion Planning Department at (610) 649-4000 to be placed on the mailing list.
